EXEMPTION FROM PARAGRAPH 704.115 (2) (a) (ii) OF THE CANADIAN AVIATION REGULATIONS

Pursuant to subsection 5.9(2) of the Aeronautics Act, and after having taken into account that the exemption is both in the public interest and is not likely to affect aviation safety, I hereby exempt an air operator, Skyservice Aviation Inc./Aviation Skyservice Inc. 9785 Ryan Avenue, Dorval, Quebec, H9P 1A2, from the requirements set out in paragraph 704.115 (2) (a) (ii) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations. This paragraph requires that the air operator's ground and flight training program shall include for flight crew members a line indoctrination training.

Purpose

The purpose of this exemption is to enable Skyservice Aviation Inc./Aviation Skyservice Inc. operating commercial air services under Subpart 4 of Part VII of the Canadian Aviation Regulations to operate a Falcon 50 with Captain Jim MacDonald, YUL Chief Pilot, licence AA233955 or Captain Ted Turner, YYZ Chief Pilot, licence AA142745 being exempted from requirements of CARs 724.115(4) (b) (i) and be authorized to act as training pilot during the conduct of transition line indoctrination on Bill Lagerquist, AA143175 and Louis DePaoli CA390299.

Conditions

1. All others requirements set out in paragraph 724.115 (27) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations standards must be met and documented on pilot's file ;
   
   
2.  This exemption is issued only if Captain Bill Lagerquist and First Officer Louis DePaoli have successfully completed the training set out in company Training Control Manual and being certified by the Chief Pilot as fully competent to act as pilot-in­command and second in command on the Falcon 50;
   
   
3. The training pilot is allowed to occupy only the jump seat during the transition line indoctrination;
   
   
4. This exemption shall be valid when fee of $475.00 is paid.

Validity

This exemption is in effect until the earliest of the following:

1. September 15th, 2001;
2. The date on which one of the conditions set out in the exemption is breached;
3. he date on which this exemption is canceled, in writing by the minister, where he is of the opinion that it is no longer in the public interest, or that it is likely to affect aviation safety.
